The “Hannah-versary” celebrations continue! Disney is continuing to build excitement for the forthcoming Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special. On Tuesday (March 17), the entertainment giant released a second trailer for the upcoming special.
The trailer starts with none other than Miley Cyrus dressed as Hannah Montana driving through Los Angeles and into a Hollywood studio lot in a black Mustang.
“Good to be home,” Cyrus says into the camera as the iconic Hannah Montana theme song “The Best of Both Worlds” begins to play.
In the trailer, Cyrus makes her way from recreations of the Hannah Montana set to a dressing room to a stage, where she performs as her former alter ego in front of a live audience.
“We have so many shared memories,” the singer says to the crowd. “We actually grew up together.”
The teaser gives a peek not only at Cyrus’ performance as Hannah, but also at her interview with the special’s host, Call Her Daddy’s Alex Cooper, who asks the singer-actress a question fans who grew up with her have always wanted to know: “What Disney boy did you have the biggest crush on at the time?”
“Get the tea kettle,” Cyrus responds. The trailer continues to make true on Disney’s promise that the special will cover Hannah Montana‘s impact on fans, be full of nostalgia and feature Cyrus singing some of the show’s biggest hits.
There are also some emotional moments in the teaser. Cyrus has heartfelt reunions with both of her parents, crediting her mother with teaching her how to be who she is and telling her father, Billy Ray Cyrus — who played her dad in the show as well — she loves him.
The clip also offers quick looks at Cyrus singing Billboard Hot 100 No. 4 hit “The Climb” and “The Best of Both Worlds” (No. 92) for the live audience.
“I loved being Hannah then. I’m so living for it now,” Cyrus says to the crowd. “Thank you so much for being here and celebrating this with us.”
The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special will air on March 24 on Disney+ and Hulu. Watch the trailer below:
