North West‘s debut headlining tour has been canceled just days before it was slated to kick off. The 14-date North American Molly x North Kimokawaii tour, a co-headlining venture with rapper Molly Santana, was scheduled to launch on Wednesday (Aug. 5) in Dallas and feature stops in Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco before winding down on Aug. 27 in Los Angeles.
The tour in support of 13-year-old West’s debut EP, NOrth4evr, was announced on June 16 and at press time spokespeople for both artists had not returned Billboard‘s request for confirmation on the cancelation.
The tour’s website now returns a “404 – Page Not Found” message, and the page for the opening show at the House of Blues in Dallas was marked “cancelled” on Ticketmaster’s page and was no longer listed on the HOB page. The Ticketmaster page also listed the Aug. 17 gig in Toronto as called off, and the AXS listing for the final gig at the Novo in L.A. was also erased. The sites for nearly all of the other shows — except for an Aug. 25 stop at the Midway in San Francisco — also list the shows as called off or no longer list them.
North West, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, released her self-produced debut EP in May and Santana has blown up this year after appearing on the Drake and Future Iceman track “Ran to Atlanta,” which hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
According to NME, West confirmed that the shows were off in an Instagram Story, writing, “I was really excited to go on tour [with] Molly Santana, sadly it isn’t happening anymore, but I have something special for you guys, see you soon.”
Santana also apologized to fans in her Story, writing, “To everyone who bought tickets to the tour, I sincerely apologize. I know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard-earned money planning to be there. Nothing makes me more happy than the opportunity to share more amazing memories with you all, and I hope to see you soon. You are all so greatly appreciated and please know that I never take your time or support lightly. I love you so much & I promise I will make this up to you.”
