Hayley Williams has never exactly been afraid of a hair-color moment. From the unmistakable orange of Paramore’s Riot! era to the kaleidoscope of shades she’s worn throughout her career, the singer has made changing her hair part of the fun. Her latest look, however, takes a surprisingly low-commitment approach.

The Paramore frontwoman debuted her new high-contrast hair as she kicked off The Hayley Williams Show, the second tour of her busy 2026 schedule. Created by longtime hairstylist and Good Dye Young cofounder Brian O’Connor, the look mixes Williams’ natural color with her existing blonde and warm brunette sections for a transformation that looks much more complicated than the process actually is.

The technique is surprisingly simple: section strategically and let the color do the work.

O’Connor, as shown on his Instagram and the product website, divided Williams’ hair into nine blocked sections, alternating the color treatment between them. Instead of covering her entire head, he kept her natural roots and previous blonde intact in select sections. That creates the dimensional effect without requiring a complete color overhaul.

For the brunette pieces, O’Connor used Good Dye Young Rinse Color-Kind Conditioner mixed with two to three ribbons of the brand’s KO semi-permanent color. The mixture helped fill in the blonde before he layered Chocolate DYEposit over those sections. After letting the first step sit for 10 minutes and the full color process for 30 minutes, he rinsed and styled the hair.

Rinse was also used on the blonde sections to help protect the existing color while adding moisture and shine.

How to Dye Your Hair Like Hayley Williams

BEST CONDITIONER FOR DYED HAIR

Good Dye Young Color Safe Conditioner

A color-protecting conditioner cream that’s sulfate-free, nourishing and meant to enhance hair color.

If you’re committing to a bold hair color, you’ll want a conditioner that can keep up. This formula is made for color-treated hair and uses an amino acid complex, shea butter and sunflower seed oil to help hair feel softer, smoother and more manageable.

BEST SEMI-PERMANENT HAIR DYE

Good Dye Young Semi-Permanent Hair Color (KO Gold)

A vegan and cruelty-free temporary hair dye that claims to last 15-24+ washes and is made using natural ingredients.

KO might be bright golden yellow in the bottle, but it helped lay the groundwork for Hayley Williams’ deeper hair color. O’Connor mixed it with Rinse to fill in her blonde before applying Chocolate DYEposit over the top.

BEST COLOR ENHANCING HAIR MASK

Good Dye Young DYEposit Brown Color Depositing Hair Mask (Chocolate)

Available in five color depositing options: Chocolate, Copper, Pink, Silver and Platinum.

Here’s the product that gave Hayley Williams’ brunette panels their chocolatey finish. The red-based brown deposits color while conditioning strands with shea butter, coconut oil and avocado oil for a softer, shinier result.

Williams wanted to bring more of her natural color into this era while revisiting ideas from her Petals for Armor period. That album and its tour cycle were cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving some of the visual concepts unrealized onstage. O’Connor also looked to Japanese street hair for the multi-tonal, sectioned approach.

Now, the finished look gets its proper stage moment as Williams travels across North and South America with The Hayley Williams Show. After selling out her first 2026 tour, she’ll perform songs from all three of her solo albums through November, with European dates planned for summer 2027.
