Kelly Clarkson handled a potentially embarrassing near-wardrobe malfunction like a pro on Saturday (Aug. 8) during her Studio Sessions residency show at the Colosseum in Las Vegas. While chatting with the audience, the 44-year-old singer reacted quickly when a gust of wind blew up her sheer white top, nearly exposing the already visible black bra beneath it.
“There’s a lot of amazing things happening,” she said in a video of the incident posted by Us Weekly. “Uh oh, there’s my boobs. Pa-pow!” As the audience laughed, Clarkson assured them, “They’re too small, they won’t come out. You’re fine. They’re not going anywhere. They’re perfect.”
Clarkson then got mystical about the near-miss, claiming she wanted to take back her joke about perfect proportions due to an astrological event that day that is supposed to bring about good things. The Lion’s Gate Portal allegedly reached its perfect alignment on Saturday, when the sun, Earth and Sirius line up in a manner that ancient Egyptians believed could help them prosper and live abundantly.
“I’m gonna be honest with you — somebody was like, ‘It’s the Lion’s Gate Portal. It’s 8/8/8. There’s so much energy out, don’t speak negatively,’ [so] right when I made a self-deprecating joke, I’m like, ‘Just kidding, universe, my boobs are awesome,’ ” Clarkson told the crowd. “I got texts all last night, like, ‘Don’t gossip, don’t speak ill of anyone or yourself [to manifest] things out there that you want,’” she added. “I was like, ‘You’re sure we’re doing this s–t everyday? I don’t know if it should just be tomorrow … or this should be a life thing? But it’s in my head, so as soon as I heard self-deprecation, I was like, ‘Just kidding!’”
Clarkson, who just released the single “I’d Be Lyin’,” has two more dates left on her residency run, which is slated to wind down with next weekend’s shows (Aug. 14-15).
