Andrea Bocelli and Jennifer Hudson have teamed to perform “One Right Here,” an original song for the upcoming film Maserati: The Brothers, written by 17-time Oscar nominee Diane Warren. Decca Records is releasing the song to DSPs on Friday (Oct. 2). The song can be pre-saved with this link.
The film, which is set to have its theatrical premiere in Italy on Oct. 15, tells the story of the Maserati brothers who built the luxury automobile manufacturer. The film stars Oscar winners Sir Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino, as well as Andy Garcia, Jessica Alba, Michele Morrone and Salvatore Esposito.
“I wrote the song with Andrea Bocelli in mind,” Warren said in a statement. “It’s always been a dream of mine to have Andrea sing one of my songs, and when he was interested, it was amazing. Then I thought, what if we brought Jennifer Hudson into it? They come from two different musical worlds, but together they created this world of beauty. It turned out even better than I imagined, and I really believe this is one of the best songs – and one of the best melodies – I’ve ever written.”
Maserati: The Brothers was directed by Bobby Moresco, who won an Oscar for best original screenplay for Crash. It was produced by Andrea Iervolino, an Italian–Canadian film producer, entrepreneur and businessman.

Jennifer is an exceptional artist, capable of moving audiences every time she steps on a stage or in front of a camera. The interpretive power of their voices will give the film an ending of tremendous emotional intensity. I would also like to thank Diane Warren, a true songwriting legend in the world of music. Her talent for turning emotions into timeless songs is unique.”
News of the song comes just three weeks after news of another Warren film song, the title song from By Any Means, which is performed by David Kushner and The Isley Brothers. Warren’s camp plans to enter both songs for consideration for best original song in the upcoming Oscars. Warren has never had two nominated songs in one year, but it is possible. (The last songwriter to achieve the feat with songs from two different films was Lionel Richie in 1986. He was nominated for writing “Say You, Say Me” from White Nights and for co-writing “Miss Celie’s Blues (Sister) from The Color Purple. He won for “Say You, Say Me.”)
Both of Warren’s key film songs this year are performed by two artists teaming up. Two of her 17 nominated songs so far have been performed by artist team-ups: “Music of My Heart” from Music of the Heart (Gloria Estefan and *NSYNC) and “Stand Up for Something” from Marshall (Andra Day and Common).
If the Hudson/Bocelli duet is nominated, it will mark the second time that J.Hud has sung one of Warren’s best original song nominees on the film’s soundtrack. The EGOT also performed “I’ll Fight” from RBG. This would make Hudson the first artist to perform two of Warren’s nominated songs.
Both Bocelli and Hudson have performed nominated songs on the Oscar telecast previously. Bocelli teamed with Celine Dion to perform “The Prayer” from Quest for Camelot in 1999. Hudson teamed with Beyoncé, Anika Noni Rose and Keith Robinson to perform three nominated songs from Dreamgirls in 2007. She also performed the aforementioned song from RBG in 2019.
