Chris Brown and Usher announced the cancellation of four shows of their sprawling R&B Tour on Friday (Oct. 9); it is currently trekking through North American stadiums. The nixed dates fall just before and after Brown’s upcoming court date.
“Following an extensive run of sold-out stadium shows on one of the year’s biggest tours, the event promoter has made the difficult decision to cancel select upcoming dates on the R&B Tour to prioritize the health and well-being of the touring party and crew,” said tour organizers in a statement, per Complex. “The demands of a tour of this length and scale are significant, and these adjustments will allow the tour to continue safely and sustainably through the remaining scheduled performances.”
The R&B Tour will no longer be coming to Baltimore (M&T Bank Stadium) on Oct. 17; Cincinnati (Paycor Stadium) on Oct. 24; Columbia, S.C. (Williams Brice Stadium) on Oct. 29; and spooky season is canceled in Indianapolis, as the trek won’t be taking over Lucas Oil Stadium on Oct. 31.
Ticket holders were made aware of the four cancellations via email. The only remaining October date left is set for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Thursday (Oct. 15); the R&B Tour will resume in Atlanta on Nov. 5 following the pause.
The show cancellations come ahead of Chris Brown being due back in court in the U.K. on Oct. 26, as he awaits sentencing in his nightclub assault case. Brown pleaded guilty to a lesser “affray” (a disturbance of public order due to a public fight) charge in July and had charges of assault and causing grievous bodily harm dropped.
Billboard has reached out to reps Brown and Usher.
Breezy — whose album Brown arrived in May and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 — faces a maximum of three years in prison for the misdemeanor and must alert authorities of his return to the U.K. by Oct. 25. The case is tied to a February 2023 nightclub attack in London, which allegedly saw the musician wielding a bottle and striking producer Amadou “Abe” Diaw in the head.
The 37-year-old singer was arrested in May 2025 upon his arrival in the U.K. for a string of European shows on his Breezy Bowl XX tour. He was charged with assault, suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. Brown was released on $6.75 million bail six days later.
